General impression:
Wonderful! I wish everybody loved it, because this movie, in my opinion, is a masterpiece. It raises interesting questions, and it is very well made. It doesn’t just tell a story, and it is as complex as you’re willing to let its deeper themes unfold in your thoughts. The robot child programmed to love unconditionally, will overcome any trauma and obstacle, and keep his love intact. In a world where some people find it difficult to wait for half an hour, what do you think of someone who literally waits for thousands of years just for the chance to be loved back?
Highlights:
The combination of science fiction and fairy tale is amazing, Haley Joel Osment is perfect in his role, and, cherry on top, the aliens have a rather cool design 🙂
Downside:
I was mesmerized, therefore unable to see flaws.
Would I see it again? – Yes
My Rating (1 to 10): 9.5
Recommended: Yes
Suggestion:
Don’t get into the Kubrick-Spielberg debate – just enjoy the movie.
