General impression:
Pure poetry. I was deeply moved by this film. It’s about getting through dark times and horror, about protection and love, about the strength beneath the joker’s skin, believing, hoping, and things bigger than us. It’s about taking life less rigidly, and ditching gloom, even when it is fully justified. Rich in metaphors, “Life Is Beautiful” seems to tell you that, if that little boy survived, you will make it through the worst of times. Moreover, you’ll get your tank too 🙂
Highlights:
It is a masterpiece, addressing both heart and mind with powerful, well-suited means.
Downside:
It’s in Italian (but that is not a bad thing). It’s not for the closed-minded (and that’s not a bad thing either).
Would I see it again? – Yes
My Rating (1 to 10): 10
Recommended: Highly
Suggestion:
To enjoy this movie, you have to ignore your preconceptions, and let yourself feel. It’s for the sensitive.
