General impression:
It could be somewhat romantic, but it lacks romance. It could be somewhat funny, but it lacks humor. It could have been lots of things, but it, eventually, was not.

Highlights:
Some vague amount of poetry. And it looks nice.

Downside:
Blandness, dullness, lifeless characters, lack of feeling, even of credibility, and the list goes on.
